Hatay Seaports

The seaport having a 8.400 kms long natural shore with 494 shore institution including 182 port institution, 197 fisher shelter, 48 marinas and 67 shipyards as well.

The seoprts in Turkey exactly acts as an industrial institution piers and they are all the seaports in Turkey generally acts as a pier for industrial institutions in specified region ans terminal management skills of the portsa re under construction at the same time. 

When we look at the province of Hatay, the existing ports area is 521 hectares and the seaports in TR63 Region are as the following:

LIMAK Iskenderun Seaport: Iskenderun Seaport which exists in the northeastern part of Mediterranean part of Turkey acts as a transition port for not only the Middle-East countries but also the South and Southern Anatolian Region as well. Because of this reason, this place has a very significant role as a transfer port as well. It has 1400 meters tall breakwaters which protects the port from the Northern and western winds. The width of the port at the entrance is 12 meters and it has a related part of railway and highway for the general purposes, Ro-Ro vehicles and mixed materails can be trasfered thorugh this port as well.

İskenderun Iron-Steel Seaport: This port can be stated as the largest general freight port. This port has been establihed in Iskenderun Bay which is 22 kms far from the county of Iskenderun, 4 kms far from E91 highway and it also has a direct connection to national railway system as well. This port has been operated in 1974. Isdemir Seaport especially serves for the benefit of Iskenderun Iron-Steel Factory and it uses its free capacity for the needs of the region with 1 million square meters seaport area with the largest potential as well.

Assan Seaport: Assan Seaport has been established by Kibar Company. It has been started to operate in 2010, the construction and investment facilities are still going on related to this seaport. This seaport exists in Iskenderun Organized Industrial Zone. The mentioned institution which has been opened to service as a pier in 1997 has also been planned to act as a container starting from the year of 2010.

Denbirport Seaport: This place which was existed as a fertilizer factory at first in 1955, turned into a seaport by handling both the import and expert products through the pier in 1974. The second step of thie construction was made in 1987 and in 2004, as a result of calling off the production process, the privatization activities in Iskenderun had started to be active in this place. What is more, in 2007, this seaport has been conveyed to Denizciler Union for 25 years time period.

Yazıcı Seaport: Yazıcı Seaport exists in Iskenderun Organized Industrial Zone. There are two expanded piers which are constructed in 1994.

Ekinciler Seaport: Orhan Ekinci Seaport which has been established in 1987 exists in Azganlık Village. This port is 10 kms far from the county of Iskenderun.

MMK & Atakas Seaport: MMK & Atakas Seaport is the colloboration of both the Magnitogrosk Iron and Steel Works MMK which is the most significant iron and steel management and Atakas which is the foremost companies on mining sector. It is established for giving services to the iron and steel plant at the same place as well.

Botas Seaport: This port can carry the ships that can lift 10.000- 350.000 tonnage at the same time and it has the capacity of 60.000 tons of freight. What is more, it also has the capacity of 40.000 tons of evacuation 

Toros Fertilizer Factories Piers: There are 2 piers of Toros Fertilizer Factories. The oldest one of these piers has 3 dried loading ships and 2 liquid loading ships and the newest pier can take the capacity of 1 Ro-Ro ship, 2 chemical loading ships and 2 liquid loading ships with 5 dried loading ships as well.
